Remediation and Restoration
Former Power Plant, San Francisco Bay, California
JJ&A was the lead consulting firm for CEQA and permitting services for the remediation plan and restoration of a former Power Plant shoreline in the San Francisco Bay Area, California.
JJ&A prepared the Project Description and Initial Study (IS) for the planned site cleanup and restoration. Services included facilitation with the lead agency to
obtain a Negative Declaration determination, and support for the public review and comment process. JJ&A coordinated multi-discipline team input and review to provide a comprehensive IS, including identification of sustainable best management practices for incorporation into the Project Description versus application as additional mitigation measures to prevent issuance of a Mitigated Negative Declaration.
Resource Agency Permitting
JJ&A was the technical lead working in support of the multi-faceted permitting effort which included the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC), US Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) and Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB). JJ&A’s strong working relationship with the BCDC facilitated timely site meetings, scoping and options for permit amendments resulting in a low-risk regulatory solution.
